Grief Counseling
Preparation for your child during their (Grief) Heroic Journey they will need the assurance of safety, stablization, education and empowerment, learning, inter-action with family members. In this stage of intervention your child is gaining trust in their feelings and opening their hearts to have verbal communication. Several techniques of mirroring, echo, positive cognitions, chant, rap, to simple songs.
Mourning rituals and activities
Receiving friends, memorial service, funeral, crying, separation anxiety, oxygen moments, journaling to/from deceased and then about the deceased, memory book and/or video collage, therapeutic remembering (best sessions), reading (short notes/stories), artistic expression (journaling, painting, sculpting), memoray garden, volunteer, community activities, traveling (adventures of joy)
Recovery as a Heroic Journey
Recovery as a Heroic Journey returned from despair helps the teen client to understand that the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming this despair.Within the sorrow, there is grace, when we come close to those things that break us down. "We also touch the things that also break us open. Also, in that breaking open our feelings, we uncover our true nature. Teen and Young Adults experiencing; mourning rituals and activities,receiving friends, memorial service, funeral, crying, separation anxiety, oxygen moments, journaling to/from deceased and then about the deceased, memory book and/or video collage, therapeutic remembering (best sessions), reading (short notes/stories), artistic expression (journaling, painting, sculpting), memory garden, volunteer, community activities, traveling (adventures of joy)
Causes of Grief, tramua, death, rejection by peers, assualted, bullied are very painful for a child.
Sessions format
They are designed for one-on-one and/or with other family member participation in the first and last session-a total of 8-12 sessions scheduled. All sessions are designed specific for pre-teen to young adults
